What does DOT/DBC mean?

The Dutch Healthcare authority (NZa) have set the rule that one care product (DOT/DBC) is valid for one three-month period, followed by a four-month period for the same care product.

Each period all health care is registered, the result of which is called the care product (DOT/DBC). If your B12 Institute treatment lasts longer than three months, we may therefore charge more than one DOT/DBC.

Telephone consultations at B12 institute similar to live consultations The doctor or specialist will open and read your file. After the telephone consultation he/she uploads a report to your personal file and treatment or prescriptions may be adjusted. Emails with health care questions are read meticulously by the medical doctor, with your personal file on hand. Everything is discussed with the patient, who therefore knows what the financial consequences will be.

Before you come to the Institute, you should ask your health insurer information on the specific DOT/DBC-code reimbursement, submitting the treatment code, our consultation fees and the name of the Institute together with its AGB-code (22220908) before visiting B12 Institute. This will prevent any unexpected invoices.

If your health insurance company doesn’t have a contract with B12 Institute we will have to charge you the list price for your treatment. You will have to pay for the costs yourself and get compensation from your health insurer yourself.

For comparison you can find tariffs for uncontracted health care at Amsterdam, AMC, here. Their prices for ‘DOT/DBC at uncontracted hospitals’ are higher than what is charged by B12 Institute. If your health insurer tells you our fees are not in line with the market, you can show them the survey below.

Beneath that you will find a list of prices and fees in 2017. We charged € 310,- for a consultation. This proves that we are completely in line with the market.
